Jo Rondel has sung with many opera companies and appears regularly as a concert and oratorio soloist. She is also Head of Music in a middle school.

Jo Rondel was born in Doncaster and read Music at the University of York, where she studied singing with Yvonne Seymour.  She then went on to study on the Opera Course at the Royal Academy of Music with Patricia Clarke. Jo has sung with British Youth Opera, Opera North, Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, Bath and Wessex Opera and at the Aldeburgh Festival.

Operatic roles undertaken include Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), The Governess (Turn of the Screw), Susanna (Marriage of Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Sesto (Giulio Cesare – Handel) and Beatrice (Beatrice and Benedict – Berlioz).

Jo has also appeared regularly as a concert and oratorio soloist in the North West, singing with CHORALE, Barnby Choir and Amici Chamber Choir in a soprano repertoire ranging from Monteverdi to Tippett.

Jo is currently living in Cambridgeshire, juggling the careers of Head of Music in a Hertfordshire middle school and concert singer.
