Cello soloist Heather Tuach is from the west coast of Newfoundland, Canada. She joined the Fitzwilliam String Quartet in 2008 after completing a Doctorate of Music at Stony Brook University, New York.

Highlights with the Quartet include concerts at Kings Place and Conway Hall in London, voyages on Martin Randall Travel’s ‘Classical Civilizations’ cruise of the Aegean Sea, and numerous tours throughout the UK, Europe, and North America.

Heather has given solo recitals in Canada, USA, Scotland, England, Germany and France. Next after the Shostakovich concerto will be Solo Bach Suites at the Swallow Theatre in Whithorn, Scotland.

As a freelance musician, Heather has played in a number of orchestras in England including the Royal Philharmonic, the Armonico Consort and Southern Sinfonia. She has upcoming engagements with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Gabrieli Consort.

Heather teaches cello in North London. Her cello is a copy of a 1705 Matteo Goffriller made by Roger Hansell in 1993.
