David Lewis studied organ and piano under Russell Missin in Newcastle and worked with Peter Dickinson and George Pratt when organ scholar at the University of Keele.

David Lewis was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and attended St. Cuthbert’s Grammar School.  He studied organ and piano under Russell Missin, Master of the Music at St. Nicholas’ Cathedral, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.  He read for a Dual Honours degree in Music and Mathematics at the University of Keele where he was appointed Organ Scholar, working under Peter Dickinson and George Pratt.

David subsequently became a headteacher of a very large 11-18 comprehensive school and lives in York.
