Christiana Eastwood grew up in York and has sung Mezzo-Soprano and Contralto solos for the Academy of St Olave’s on several occasions.

Christiana Eastwood was educated at St. Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh where she sang in the Cathedral Choir under Dennis Townhill. She went on to read for a BMus(hons) at the University of Huddersfield where she studied singing with Patricia Hamilton and clarinet with Roger Heaton. In 1998 she moved to York to study singing and, in particular, Baroque performance with Yvonne Seymour and sang in several York ensembles including the Ebor Singers and the Yorkshire Bach Choir as both soloist and choir member.

Since moving to Oxford in 2001 Christiana has been a member of Schola Cantorum of Oxford and Commotio, a group dedicated to the performance of both 20th century and contemporary music. She has also sung as a soloist in many oratorio performances including the Mozart Requiem with Thame Choral Society and Christ Church Bach Choir, the Haydn St. Nicholas Mass with Keble College Music Society, the Durufle Requiem with Voces Sacrae and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Bracknell Choral Society.

Other concerts in 2003-4 included the Mozart Requiem with Oxford Pro Musica Singers.

Christiana followed a career in music teaching and has been Head of Music at The Granville School, Sevenoaks, since 2013.
