Benjamin Davies was soloist in Haydn’s Concerto for Cello in C Major in April 1990.

Benjamin plays in the Britten Pears Orchestra at the Maltings, Snape. Both his parents played regularly with the Academy of St Olave’s for many years.

Benjamin Davies studied the ‘cello with Ioan Davies, formerly of the Fitzwilliam Quartet, and with Bernard Gregor-Smith of the Lindsay Quartet.

After graduating from Manchester University in Geography and Geology, Benjamin spent two years as a graduate student at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Derek Simpson.

Benjamin plays in the Britten Pears Orchestra at the Maltings, Snape. Both his parents played regularly with the Academy of St Olave’s for many years.

Ben Davies is currently teaches cello at the Junior Royal Academy of Music.
